Key Change In Defence: 4-2-3-1 Arsenal Predicted Lineup vs Manchester United

Arsenal succumbed to their sixth defeat of the season against Chelsea over the weekend thus continuing their poor run of form. The Gunners face a resurgent Manchester United side today at the Emirates and new manager Mikel Arteta will hope to register his first win as Arsenal boss.

The last time these two sides met at the Emirates, Arsenal registered a 2-0 win, but the north London have several issues ahead of this game and will have a tougher fight on their hands. Arsenal are currently 12th in the league, six points above the relegation zone.

Let’s take a look at the possible Arsenal team against Manchester United.

Team News

Arteta has several injury concerns ahead of the key clash against the Red Devils. Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac will miss the game, as will Calum Chambers, who was taken off in the game against Chelsea with a knee injury.

Sokratis will also miss the game after suffering a concussion in the game against Bournemouth.

Granit Xhaka (illness), Rob Holding (knee) and Dani Ceballos (hamstring) will be assessed ahead of the game but might ultimately not be selected given the fixture pile-up.

Hector Bellerin was not pictured in training and is unlikely to be available for selection.

PREDICTED ARSENAL TEAM vs MANCHESTER UNITED (4-2-3-1)

Goalkeeper

Bernd Leno should continue in goal for the Gunners against Manchester United.

Defence

David Luiz should start as one of two centre-backs in the Arsenal team, while Shkodran Mustafi could come in place of Calum Chambers if Rob Holding is not fit enough.

Bukayo Saka should continue at left-back for Arsenal, while Hector Bellerin’s likely absence should see Ainsley Maitland-Niles hold his place at right-back.

Midfield

Granit Xhaka has a chance to feature but mild fitness concerns along with doubts over his future at the club might see the duo of Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira continue in the double pivot in the Arsenal team.

Mesut Ozil should continue as the No. 10 after impressing in Arteta’s first two games in charge.

Attack

We could see the same front three as the one that played against Chelsea with Alexandre Lacazette leading the line with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Reiss Nelson playing on the left and right in the Arsenal team.

Gabriel Martinelli is an option if he is fit, while Nicolas Pepe could also be in Arteta’s thoughts but is likely to be used as an impact substitute.
