Liverpool sold Simon Mignolet to Club Brugge, and the other big departure was Daniel Sturridge who was released after his contract ended. Alberto Moreno also departed on free. Ryan Kent and Danny Ings made permanent moves to Rangers and Southampton respectively.
The club signed Adrian, who was a free agent, to replace Mignolet. Another backup arrival was Andy Lonergan. The only player the club spent some transfer money on was teenage Dutch defender Sepp van der Verg signed from Zwolle.
