In an astonishing turn of events, Arsenal look certain to add Brazilian maverick David Luiz to their defence on transfer deadline day.
The Gunners, who were accused of neglecting their defence when they were splashing the cash to sign the likes of Ceballos and Pepe, have turned things around today.
And a report by Mirror states that the two rivals have agreed on an £8m fee which will see Luiz don the Arsenal colours from this weekend.
And to add to that, they have agreed on a Scottish record deal for Kieran Tierney, which means that Emery will well and truly have a formidable side lined up this season.
But coming back to the Luiz deal, what surprised us was the fact that the sudden exit of the Brazilian is partly down to a fall-out between new manager Frank Lampard and the defender. And to make things even murkier is that the animosity originated way back in 2013 after a Europa League loss.

While the Chelsea hierarchy would have hoped for a smooth homecoming for Lampard, this surely wasn’t the case as we are finding out now.
It will be interesting to see whether Kurt Zouma or Andreas Christensen can step up now that options are extremely thin at the Bridge as far as the centre-back options go.
