Aguero Gets 9 | Manchester City Players Rated In 3-1 Win Against Arsenal

Manchester City bounced back from their defeat against Newcastle United in their last Premier League outing as they dished out a clinical performance against Arsenal. The reigning Premier League champions were rewarded for their constant pressing and relentless attitude which ultimately resulted in Sergio Aguero notching up his 14th hat-trick for the Sky Blues.

This win takes Manchester City within two points of league leaders Liverpool, who are set to take on West Ham United tomorrow.

Here is how the Manchester City players were rated in their prolific win against Arsenal.

Ederson: 6.5

Had a rather quiet night in the Manchester City goal, especially in the second half where Arsenal failed to have a single attempt on goal. Could not do much to keep out Koscielny’s header.

Kyle Walker: 7

Kept getting forward whenever the chance was there. Did a good job defensively as well.

Fernandinho: 8

Effectively played in two positions. Took up his place as a centre-back but whenever City were in possession, the Brazilian did not hesitate to venture into advanced areas in midfield thus nullifying any chance of Arsenal getting a hold on the game.

Nicolas Otamendi: 6

Kept breathing down the shoulders of Lacazette and Aubameyang throughout the match. Could have done better to stop the only goal from being scored by Arsenal.

Aymeric Laporte: 7

Did a great job as the left back for most of the match and delivered an inch-perfect cross to find Aguero in the box, who made no mistake to slot the ball past Leno. Pushed back into the backline and put in a shift as a centre-back towards the end of the match as well.

Ilkay Gundogan: 7

A calm and composed display by the German international. Produced an excellent lob into the path of Raheem Sterling to initiate the attack that led to the second goal for his side.

David Silva: 8

Made sure that the ball remained in the opposition half for most of the game. Linked up well with Gundogan and De Bruyne and could have had a goal for himself.

Kevin De Bruyne: 7

Slowly getting back to his best. Had a few shots at goal to test Bernd Leno but the Arsenal man was up for the task.

Bernardo Silva: 7

A constant menace down the right. Linked well with De Bruyne and his first touch passing caught the Arsenal defence napping at times.

Raheem Sterling: 8

Brilliant work rate and sublime footwork from the Englishman as he laid off two pinpoint assists for Aguero to notch up his second and third goals of the match.

Sergio Aguero: 9

Notched up his second hat-trick of the season and 14th overall for City in brilliant fashion. Breached whatever resistance was put up Mustafi and Koscielny as he helped his side bag three more important points to start off a crucial week with a win.
