Milner Starts, No Henderson: Predicted 4-3-3 Liverpool Lineup vs Watford

The final international break of the year is done and Liverpool will return to action when they take on Watford in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Reds have been able to compete with Manchester City so far this season but the coming weeks will be crucial as the fixtures will come thick and fast.

Jurgen Klopp’s side managed to beat Fulham 2-0 before the international break and will look to keep their good run going when they take on an impressive Watford side that are seventh in the Premier League table.

Liverpool Team News

A game away against Watford will be a test, especially after the international break. Klopp will be glad that barring Jordan Henderson, no one else from Liverpool picked up an injury while on international duty.

Naby Keita should get a few minutes in the second half as it’s unlikely Klopp will give him a start.

Predicted Liverpool Lineup

Defence

Virgil van Dijk was a key figure for the Dutch as they beat France and held the Germans in their own backyard. The Dutchman will feature at the back alongside Joe Gomez who was equally impressive for England.

Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold will be full of confidence and should start as the two full-backs. Roberto Pereyra has been in impressive form for the Hornets this season and Alexander-Arnold will have to be on the top of his game.

Alisson should keep his place in goal.

Midfield

Fabinho is slowly adapting to life in England but he can do a lot better. Playing in a demanding setup under Klopp will take time and the more he plays, the better he will get.

James Milner will be fresh for the game and he is likely to line up alongside Wijnaldum in a three-man midfield.

Attack

Xherdan Shaqiri could drop to the bench meaning Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane will play in the front three.

Firmino has been playing in a number role of sorts and the game against Watford could provide him with the opportunity to end his four-game goal drought.

Salah seems to have found his goalscoring touch and he will be a threat on the right wing.

Mane – Firmino- Salah

Milner – Fabinho – Wijnaldum

Robertson – van Dijk – Gomez – TAA
