Liverpool have started their new season in the Premier League in a spectacular fashion as they have won all of their first four league games. Jurgen Klopp’s men have certainly looked hungry and desirous to make a serious surge for the league silverware.
However, Liverpool are set to be without the services of Dejan Lovren at least until mid-October, as per one of the latest reports by TEAMtalk. The defender has been suffering from stomach strain injury and it has been deemed to be worse than originally feared.
The 29-year-old was handed an extended break after his endeavours with Croatian national team in the World Cup and he reportedly played for his country despite the pain. In his absence, Joe Gomez has fared really well alongside Virgil van Dijk in the central defence.
Apparently, Joel Matip is the only other recognized central defender on the books of manager Jurgen Klopp. Although Lovren is back in light training, the Reds have reported that the match against Huddersfield Town on 20th October should see him being available for selection.
