Bielsa Willing To Do Whatever It Takes To Ensure Leeds United Promotion

Marcelo Bielsa has been taking big steps to revolutionize Leeds United for better and the fans have loved the way he has been managing his side. Under the tutelage of the Argentine, the Whites have carved a good start to their Championship campaign and a lot of positivism has been seen from his arsenal.

One of the boldest decisions taken by Bielsa after his entry into the Elland Road was to freeze out Eunan O’Kane. O’Kane has been cited that he wasn’t there in Bielsa’s plans from the fact that the new manager has not given him a squad number. Impliedly, his days in the ranks of the Yorkshire based outfit seems to have ended.

He was handed a new four-year deal last summer by Leeds United. The midfielder was one of the most instrumental figures during the short reign of Paul Heckingbottom and was made the captain of the club. O’Kane has previously represented clubs such as Coleraine, Torquay United and Bournemouth.

While explaining his decisions to leave out the likes of O’Kane, Bielsa said: “If we have one position and three players it’s very difficult that the third player in the position gets time to play. I would be doing something not very good to one of the three players, so when you take decisions you have to transmit them at the right moment and I think this is an honest behaviour.”
