Another enthralling Premier League matchweek is around the corner. It’s early in the season but we can already see rough patterns emerging as far as the league dynamics are concerned.
Let us take a look at the 3 players to look forward to on Matchweek 3.
#3 Harry Kane
After banishing his August hoodoo, we back him to add more goals to his tally this month. Spurs travel next to Old Trafford on Monday night. Harry Kane would have taken notice of the bungles made by United’s centre-backs against Brighton.
He will be eager to take the advantage of United’s fragile defence to get three crucial points for his team. Lindelof may retain his spot in the starting XI as a complete overhaul of the defence may not be a safe idea. Lindelof’s biggest weakness is his physicality. Harry Kane is strong and can outmuscle the defender just as Glenn Murray did in the previous game to score the first goal of the match.
#2 Paul Pogba
When Pogba plays well, United play well. United fans will be demanding a performance from their stand-in-skipper who himself admitted that his attitude at the Amex Stadium wasn’t up to the mark. In two matches he has two goals to his name (both penalties) but what United need from him is a dominating performance in the midfield.
He had a strong start against Leicester City but faded as the game progressed. Against Brighton, he was slow, ineffective and frustrating. Paul Pogba, at 25 years of age, is no more a youngster who has the license to be inconsistent with his performances. He needs to stand up and take the responsibility to drive his team to glory week in and week out.
#1 Jack Wilshere
Wilshere will make his return to the Emirates stadium where he spent 17 years as a footballer. First time as an opponent, it will be interesting to witness the reception he will get from the fans. Will he score against Arsenal? If he does, will he celebrate? All these questions and more make Wilshere our most intriguing player to watch this weekend.
After arriving at West Ham as a free agent, he has an opportunity to prove to Unai Emery that he deserved to stay at Arsenal. West Ham manager, Manuel Pellegrini compared Wilshere to Italian legend, Andrea Pirlo, in his explanation to start Noble and the former Arsenal man together in the midfield.
He is yet to get used to his new life on the other side of London but Pellegrini needs him to start producing as they are still in the search of their first point of this season.
