Flint To Start: Predicted 4-3-3 Middlesbrough Lineup To Face Millwall

Middlesbrough finished at the 5th spot in the Championship last term but were unable to proceed further in the playoffs. With the new season on the horizon though, the fans are optimistic of another promotion surge.

Like always, Tony Pulis is forming his team on the base of a strong defensive unit. His two new acquisitions, Aden Flint and Paddy McNair, have further strengthened the back line and it will be interesting to see how the Smoggies fare in the second division this time around.

They are due to face Millwall at the Den on Saturday in their opening fixture this season and Pulis will be eager to start on a positive note which will set the tone for the rest of the season. The Lions secured the 8th position in the Championship table last season and will be aiming for the playoffs this time around.

Team News

Adama Traore is set to miss the start of the season with a partially dislocated shoulder and he will be a major absentee in the game. Daniel Ayala’s chances of featuring in the opener also look bleak.

PREDICTED MIDDLESBROUGH LINEUP TO FACE MILLWALL (4-3-3)

Goalkeeper

Darren Randolph is expected to start between the sticks for the Riversiders this weekend. The 31-year-old shot-stopper was impressive last term and he will hope to continue in a similar vein of form.

Defence

Ben Gibson and Flint are likely to be stationed at the heart of the defence. Both of them are proven players in the Championship and their partnership will be key to how Boro shape up this season.

George Friend is expected to start at left-back. His industry and tenacity will be a key feature and he will hope for an interrupted season from a personal point of view. Ryan Shotton is likely to start in the right-back slot.

Midfield

Grant Leadbitter is expected to start against Neil Harris’ side. His experience and ability to screen the defence will come in handy especially in the big matches. Alongside him, we expect Jonathan Howson and Adam Clayton to complete the midfield trio.

Attack

In the absence of Traore, Stewart Downing might get an opportunity to start on the right-wing, with Marvin Johnson possibly getting the nod to start on the left flank. We expect Britt Assombalonga to start up front. He will be looking to get off to a positive start and nail down a starting spot.

I wish to read read things about it!
