Chance to be unstoppable: Liverpool should break the bank for this attacker – Opinion

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will enter the new season with the ‘Champions of Europe’ tag and they will be desperate to live up to the expectations this season.

However, the German manager does not seem too interested in adding names to his senior side this summer, which could come back to haunt them later in the season.

With another day left in the transfer market, Liverpool might be tempted to make a last-minute move, given the number of business teams around them have done this summer and one player they should definitely look to sign is Portuguese star, Bruno Fernandes.

The Story

Linked (h/t Mirror) with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, and Manchester City throughout the transfer window this summer, the 24-year old is open to leaving the Portuguese side this summer.

He is expected to cost around £56m(h/t Goal), as both Spurs and United have retained their interest in the player, this late in the transfer window.

The midfielder was seen saying his goodbyes to his Sporting teammates after the 5-0 defeat against Benfica recently, and the next couple of days will surely decide his future in Portugal.

Bruno Fernandes Would Make Liverpool Unstoppable

An offensive midfielder by trait, Bruno registered 32 goals and 18 assists in all competitions last seasons and is regarded as one of the most gifted players in Liga NOS at the moment.

At just 24, he already has 13 international caps and is a crucial part of the squad for the club and country alike.

Last season, under Marcel Keizer, Bruno played as an attacking midfielder, shouldering the responsibilities of creating and scoring goals for his side.

But he was equally effective when played as a support striker or even as a winger at times, and this versatility is what makes him an option for Liverpool.

The Sporting man is usually full of energy and is happy to hunt the ball down, usually acting as the first line of defence for the club last season.

He is also excellent over a dead ball and is a player most teams in Europe would love to have on their side.

His price may be on the higher side but Liverpool have gathered funds from their Champions League victory last season and are yet to spend big on a player this summer. So Bruno’s price tag should not really be a problem for the Reds.

The Portuguese international can act as a backup to Sadio Mane on the left-wing, can do a decent job in place of Roberto Firmino in a false-9 role while also adding creativity to the midfield if Klopp uses him in a 4-3-3 system.

He solves more than one issue in the squad at Anfield and is a signing that can make Liverpool unstoppable next season.
