Manchester United player ratings in 3-0 win over Brighton

Manchester United extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to 15 games on Tuesday night when they defeated Brighton at the Amex Stadium. The Red Devils are now level on points with Wolves and just 2 points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.

Two goals from Bruno Fernandes and one from 18-year-old Mason Greenwood secured the win for Manchester United. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be pleased with coming away with all three points from Brighton as the Red Devils had lost in their last two visits to the Amex.

Let’s take a look at the Manchester United player ratings for the game against Brighton:

David de Gea (7)

The United goalkeeper had a quiet first half as his side dominated proceedings, but was called into action in the second half. He made a couple of good saves to give the Red Devils a clean sheet.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (8)

Put in a good shift at right-back and even played a part in Mason Greenwood’s goal in the first half.

Victor Lindelof (7)

Didn’t put a wrong foot, rarely gave away the ball and was solid in defence.

Harry Maguire (8)

The Manchester United captain was commanding in the air – even helping United to swiftly counter-attack for the third goal – while also starting attacks from the back with his passing.

Luke Shaw (8)

The English left-back has continued his good run of form and looked very good in attack, while also being solid in defence. Got into good positions, and was instrumental in Bruno Fernandes’ first goal.

Nemanja Matic (8)

Looked composed while defending while also playing a role in attack, especially for the third goal, where he put in a good ball to Mason Greenwood. Has formed a good partnership with Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes in midfield.

Paul Pogba (8)

His link-up play with Bruno Fernandes is improving with every game, and they were at their deadly best against Brighton, as the Frenchman set up one goal for Fernandes.

Bruno Fernandes (9)

Scored twice and should have got a hat-trick as one of his shots hit the post. Has transformed this United side since signing for them in January.

Marcus Rashford (7)

Slowly building match fitness and had a few good moments on the left side.

Mason Greenwood (9)

Scored a beautiful goal to open the scoring for Manchester United against Brighton and then put in a fantastic cross towards Bruno Fernandes to cap off a swift counter-attack. The teenager is quickly becoming hard to drop from the starting XI for Solskjaer.

Anthony Martial (6)

After last week’s heroics, the Frenchman was quiet in the Brighton win.

Substitutes

Andreas Pereira (5)

Had a few good touches but nothing of note.
