Hernandez In, Roberts Out: Predicted 4-1-4-1 Leeds Lineup vs Blackburn Rovers

Leeds United stumbled last time around in the Championship, when they were held by lowly Luton Town. The Whites, whose lead at the top of the table has been cut down to just one point, will host Blackburn Rovers on Saturday in the Championship.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side will be wary of the chasing pack, with Brentford leading the charge in third, just six points behind the Whites.

With six games remaining, Leeds need a win to open up a gap once again to ensure there are no late hiccups in finishing inside the top two positions.

In the reverse fixture at Elland Road, Leeds won 2-1 against Blackburn, thanks to goals from Patrick Bamford and Jack Harrison.

Leeds United Team News

Captain Liam Cooper suffered an injury early in the game against Luton Town. But, The Athletic’s Phil Hay has revealed that Cooper will be alright, and should travel to face Blackburn.

There is some bad news elsewhere as Stuart Dallas will reportedly miss the game through injury. Adam Forshaw is still on the sidelines and will not make the Leeds United lineup either. Kiko Casilla is still suspended.

Let’s take a look at the possible Leeds United team for the game against Blackburn Rovers:

Predicted Leeds United Lineup vs Blackburn Rovers

Goalkeeper

Casilla’s suspension means Illian Meslier will continue in goal for the Whites. The custodian will hope to keep a clean-sheet this time.

Defence

If Cooper is fit, he will start in defence alongside Ben White. Gaetano Berardi was brought on as a replacement for Cooper in the game against Luton, but was brought off at half-time, with Luke Ayling playing in central defence.

Dallas’ injury means Ezgjan Alioski should slot in at left-back, with Ayling starting on the opposite side in the Leeds United lineup.

Midfield

Bielsa has rarely changed his midfielders, as defensive midfielder Kalvin Phillips has been a regular feature in the Leeds United lineup.

Mateusz Klich should start in the position ahead of Phillips, while Pablo Hernandez – who has come on in the last two games – could get finally a start in place of Tyler Roberts.

Attack

The front three could be unchanged with Patrick Bamford leading the line, and Jack Harrison and Helder Costa playing on the left and right, respectively.

Roberts could also be an option instead of Bamford up front for Leeds against Blackburn Rovers.
