Liverpool are now not only one of the most exciting clubs to watch in Europe, but have also become serial winners.
Though most players in the squad are currently settled, there are always teams in Europe that will look to lure star names away in the next couple of transfer windows.
And one player now wanted in Spain is Senegalese winger Sadio Mane.
A story from Le10sport now claims that Real Madrid are interested in signing Mane this summer and that Zinedine Zidane has already spoken to the player about this move.
There is very little strength to this story but does it make any sense for the player and the clubs involved?
Sadio Mane At Real Madrid?
The story claims that Zidane is happy to let the likes of Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez leave come the end of this season.
This will see them a bit short of options in attack making a star signing an immediate requirement at Bernabeu. So, Mane, who is among the best wingers in the world at the moment, is a safe choice.
The 27-year-old has shown his prowess on both wings in his time at Anfield and could form a formidable partnership on the wings alongside Eden Hazard in Spain.
Real Madrid have spent on a number of youngsters who will make a mark in years to come, but lack of recent success is sure to push them into signing established stars and Mane fits the bill perfectly.
Mane’s pace and ability to create goals out of nothing along with his desire to win games makes him a perfect fit for Real Madrid.
Can Zidane Lure Mane Out Of Anfield?
However, the biggest question regarding this story is if Mane will even be ready to move.
The former Southampton winger is one of the first names on the team sheet for Jurgen Klopp and is expected to stay that way for at least another season.
He may even be a regular at Real, but having spent more than half a decade in England, he is better of spending his prime as a footballer in a country he knows all about.
His current deal with Liverpool runs till 2023, which will make him really expensive but more importantly, Klopp has a good relationship with Mane, that will make this deal even tougher.
Mane may be tempted for a new challenge, especially if he ends up winning the Premier League this season but at the moment, this story has no real legs, at least till the end of the season.
