Changes In Midfield | 4-3-3 Predicted Liverpool Lineup vs Sheffield United

Liverpool are back in action on Thursday when they welcome Sheffield United to Anfield. The Reds will hope to re-open a 13-point lead at the top of the Premier League table, although the Blades have proven a hard side to beat this season.

Considering the form of the teams vying for the fourth spot, European qualification is an achievable target for Chris Wilder, and taking points off the European Champions would be a big statement.

But Liverpool are on a record-breaking run and will be favourites going into this game.

Liverpool Team News

In early team news, Liverpool are still without Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Joel Matip, Dejan Lovren, Nathaniel Clyne, Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri, all of who are out for at least another week.

But they have no new injury issues to worry about ahead of this game. New signing Takumi Minamino may not be able to make the matchday squad.

Here is the predicted lineup Klopp might field for this tie:

Predicted Liverpool Lineup vs Sheffield United

Defence

Alisson Becker now has four consecutive clean-sheets in the league. He will do whatever it takes to try and continue that run under the sticks.

Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez are the only options in defence for Klopp. The duo should keep their place in the Liverpool lineup, and could have a tricky time against the link-up of John Fleck and Lys Mousset in attack.

Andrew Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold deserve some rest, but lack of options could see Klopp stick to the same backline for another game.

Midfield

Jordan Henderson has been superb in the last few games and could be finally given some rest. He should be on the bench while Georginio Wijnaldum, who did not last the whole game against Wolves at the weekend, could start in the deeper midfield role.

Adam Lallana registered the assist for Mane’s winner in that game, but could also be on the bench, while James Milner could be given a chance, adding some stability to the midfield.

Naby Keita was exceptional in his last league start against Leicester and could get another chance in the midfield against the Blades.

Attack

Like in his defence, Klopp has no real star replacement for his front line attackers. But this is too huge a game for resting too many players and the manager is expected to start his best attack.

Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah were close to finding the back of the net against Wolves, but it is Sadio Mane who scored the match-winner against them. The trio will be hard to stop.

Here is how they might line up:
