Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing Norwich City’s highly-rated right-back Max Aarons, who has impressed in the last two seasons for the Canaries.
The full-back, who recently turned 20, has been an important figure in the Norwich City backline and has impressed, despite his club’s poor results.
As per Daily Mail, Arsenal and Tottenham are both interested in the right-back, while West Ham United and Everton are also tracking him.
The report further states that Norwich City could let him go for a fee of £30 million in the January transfer window.
Aarons made his debut for Norwich City last season in the Championship and played a pivotal role in Norwich’s return to the Premier League, winning the EFL Young Player of the Year award.
The 20-year-old is an England Under-21 regular, having played 5 times for the side. His contract with Norwich City expires in 2024, having signed a new contract last year.
Max Aarons – Why he’s a good option for Arsenal and Arteta
Max Aarons is one of the most promising full-backs in England at the moment, having taken to life in the Premier League very swiftly. The 20-year-old is an epitome of the modern full-back as he attacks fearlessly and is also good in defence.
The Englishman has averaged 1.4 dribbles per game in the league this season in a Norwich City side that’s bottom of the league table.
Aarons is a confident dribbler, moving forward at every opportunity, while he is also a good passer in the final third. He likes to tackle and put the ball to safety as well, averaging 1.3 tackles and 2.1 clearances per game in the Premier League this season.

With Arsenal’s first-choice right-back Hector Bellerin struggling with injuries and not at his best, the Gunners need to sign an alternative to offer competition to Bellerin.
Aarons would fit in very well in Mikel Arteta’s style of play at Arsenal as he is a quick passing, dribbling, and pressing player.
The north London side have used Ainsley Maitland-Niles at right-back, who is not a natural defender. The Gunners need to strengthen their defence, which has looked very weak and lacked depth, and the signing of Aarons will go a long way in rebuilding the Arsenal side. He is one for the present and the future at the Emirates.
Considering the full-backs are a key cog in a possession-based game, someone like Aarons would add more width to Arsenal’s gameplay under Arteta. He is also pretty young, so he would be a long-term addition.
