Liverpool Transfer News: Reds Submit Bid For Turkish Star

Liverpool are inching closer to signing Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir, after their president has revealed that the Reds have submitted their bid.

The Reds were in a sticky situation in the early weeks of the season after Alisson picked up an injury, and Adrian, who was signed on a free transfer, was drafted in.

The Spaniard did well, but it is evident that Liverpool need more depth in that department.

Cakir has made 16 appearances in the Turkish Super Lig so far this season, and has impressed with his shot-stopping capability.

Still only 23, he has his peak years as a goalkeeper well ahead of him, and could be a good long-term addition to the Liverpool squad.

President confirms bid for Ugurcan Cakir

Trabzonspor president Ahmet Agaoglu has said that the Turkish side have received offers for Cakir, and that Liverpool are one of them.

“There are offers for Cakir, we continue to receive offers. It’s been said Liverpool have made an offer.

“So a team that is undefeated in the Premier League wants my keeper. In other words Liverpool’s goalkeeper is in my goal,” Agaoglu beamed.
