Change In Midfield | Predicted Tottenham Hotspur Lineup vs Burnley

Jose Mourinho’s first trip back to Old Trafford ended in his first defeat as the Tottenham Hotspur manager. But his side has a chance to bounce back this weekend when they welcome Burnley.

Before that defeat, Spurs were unbeaten in six games across all competitions, and Mourinho will be confident that his side can get back to winning ways against The Clarets.

Burnley have beaten Spurs just once in the last eight meetings away from home and have lost three of their last five league games.

Sean Dyche’s side need to make sure they bring out their best game to take anything from this clash. Here is the predicted lineup Mourinho might field for this tie:

Tottenham Team News

Spurs have no new injury issues to worry about ahead of this game. Ben Davies, Hugo Lloris, Michel Vorm and Erik Lamela all remained sidelined nursing injuries.

Predicted Tottenham Lineup (4-2-3-1)

Defence

Paulo Gazzaniga has not been at his best deputising for Lloris at the back. But lack of options should see Mourinho stick with under the bar for this weekend.

Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez are a formidable defensive partnership and have started every game under Mourinho. They could have a tough task against the likes of Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes in Burnley’s attack.

Danny Rose has struggled to get a game under the new manager but the visitors are expected to sit deep for most of this game and the English full-back might get his chance to impress at left-back. Serge Aurier has been the preferred option for Mourinho at right-back.

Midfield:

Harry Winks put in a decent shift against Manchester United, and could be given some rest. Tanguy Ndombele, who is slowly starting to impress, should get another start in the midfield alongside Moussa Sissoko, who has been effective in more than one position under the Portuguese manager.

Attack:

Dele Alli has found sizzling form recently and has been Spurs’ best player under Mourinho. His will keep his place in the no.10 role just behind Harry Kane, who failed to make an impact against The Red Devils.

Lucas Moura and Heung Min-Son both started against United but failed to find the back of the net. But the duo could keep their place in the Tottenham Lineup as they add pace and width to the attack that could be crucial against a side like Burnley.

Here is how they might line up:
