West Ham United Could Move In For Versatile Serie A Ace: What Will He Add To The Team?

West Ham United are keen on signing Inter Milan midfielder Valentino Lazaro, who only moved to the club earlier this year.

Lazaro previously played for Red Bull Salzburg and Hertha Berlin, before he was signed by the Italian giants in the summer transfer window.

As per FCInter News, the Austrian has attracted interest from West Ham, who have enquired about his availability. But, Inter have swiftly knocked back their request and it seems that they are not willing to sell the 23-year-old.

Lazaro joined Inter for a fee of around £20 million from Hertha Berlin. The lack of playing time has perhaps resulted in the Hammers enquiring about a loan deal to bring him to the London Stadium.

The Austrian has made just 6 appearances for Inter since his summer move, of which only 2 have been starts. Lazaro, who has 26 appearances for his national side, impressed at his previous club, Hertha Berlin, where he made over 50 appearances in two seasons.

What will Valentino Lazaro add to West Ham United?

Lazaro is a versatile player who can play as a right wing-back, right midfielder, right-winger, or even as a central midfielder, which he has done at Inter this season.

The 23-year-old is a good passer and crosser of the ball, and likes to put in early crosses into the box from wide areas.

Last season, Lazaro averaged 1.8 key passes per game in the Bundesliga, while making 1.5 crosses per game. He is a player who likes to stick out to the wide areas of the pitch and swing in crosses, rather than drifting into central areas.

The Hammers could do with a versatile player like him, especially if they want to switch to a 3-man/5-man defence. Lazaro can play anywhere across the right side, from right back to right attacking midfielder, and his versatility is probably his biggest strength.

The Hammers have the likes of Andriy Yarmolenko, Robert Snodgrass, and Michail Antonio as options on the right, but they do not offer the same qualities as Lazaro.

Lazaro could be a useful addition to the Hammers squad, and a loan move would be a sensible deal that could work for West Ham and Inter Milan.
