Williams To Start: 4-2-3-1 Manchester United Predicted Lineup vs Brighton & Hove Albion

Manchester United qualified for the knockout stages of the Europa League on Thursday after a 3-0 win at home against Partizan Belgrade. The Red Devils now turn their attention to the Premier League, where they welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to Old Trafford. United lost their last Premier League game 1-0 against Bournemouth and will look to get back to winning ways in the league.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are currently 14th in the league, 18 points behind leaders Liverpool but could move up to 7th with a win.

Let’s take a look at the possible Manchester United lineup that Solskjaer could put out for Sunday’s clash.

Team news

Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire are the latest injury worries for Solskjaer after both of them sustained knocks during the mid-week game. But Solskjaer is hopeful of having both of them back for the game.

Victor Lindelof missed the Europa League tie due to injury, but he should be back today.

Luke Shaw, Paul Pogba, Diogo Dalot, Eric Bailly, Nemanja Matic and Axel Tuanzebe will continue their absence.

Goalkeeper

David de Gea was given a rest for the Europa League clash, with Sergio Romero starting in his place. The Spaniard should return to the Manchester United lineup for the game against Brighton.

Defence

Marcos Rojo and Harry Maguire started the mid-week game, with Maguire reportedly getting a knock. But Ole will likely have his regular options Lindelof and Maguire fit for this game and start at centre-back in the Manchester United lineup.

Ashley Young is suspended for the game after racking up five yellow cards for the season. Brandon Williams should replace Young at left-back as the 19-year-old was an unused substitute in the Europa League game.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka should continue at right-back.

Midfield

The big worry for United heading into the game against Brighton is the fitness of Scott McTominay. McTominay reportedly told Solskjaer that he would be fit for the Premier League game, but the manager has his doubts. If McTominay is not fit, we could see Andreas Pereira or James Garner start in midfield alongside Fred.

But given that he has been included in the squad and considering the current form of Brighton, we expect McTominay to be handed a start. He will be accompanied by Fred with Andreas Perreira further ahead in the Manchester United midfield.

Attack

Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford got on the scoresheet in the Europa League game, and they should retain their places in the team, while Mason Greenwood will be replaced by Daniel James on the right.
