Keita And Milner To Start | Predicted 4-3-3 Liverpool Lineup vs Genk

Liverpool will want to put aside their disappointing result against Manchester United in the Premier League ahead of their trip to Belgium to play Genk in the Champions League.

Jurgen Klopp’s men are currently second in Group E of the Champions League, a point behind Napoli.

The Reds had a mighty scare in their last Champions League game, against RB Salzburg, and narrowly defeated them 4-3 in that game.

Liverpool missed Mohamed Salah on Sunday as the Egyptian had to sit out the game due to injury. But Klopp revealed that Salah could maybe return for the game against Genk. Let’s take a look at the possible Liverpool lineup against Genk:

Early Liverpool Team News

Mohamed Salah might be fit, but it’s unlikely he will be risked against Genk on Wednesday.

Predicted Liverpool Lineup vs Genk

Goalkeeper

Alisson returned to the Liverpool team against Manchester United, playing only his second match of the season after getting injured on the opening day. He should retain his place between the sticks for the game against Genk.

Defence

Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip had an easy time in the second half of the game against Manchester United, but they were put under pressure, on occasions, in the first half. The duo should continue at the back for the Reds against Genk.

Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold should also retain their place in the side at left-back and right-back, respectively.

Midfield

Liverpool’s midfield was disappointing against Manchester United, with the trio of Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum, and Fabinho not hurting United while attacking.

Klopp could maybe make a few changes in the middle of the park. Naby Keita could be brought in to the team in place of Wijnaldum, while James Milner could replace Henderson. Fabinho will most likely retain his place in the team in midfield.

Attack

Klopp may not want to risk Salah if he’s not fully fit. Divock Origi, who replaced Salah in the Liverpool lineup, did not impress, and he could be replaced as well.

Xherdan Shaqiri is a natural replacement for Salah in the Liverpool lineup, and Klopp could finally give him a start, while Adam Lallana – despite his heroics on Sunday – will be just an option on the bench.

Klopp will start with Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane upfront for the game against Genk.
