Leeds United have had a solid start to the 2019-20 Championship season, having won five, drawn two, and losing just one of their eight games.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side are one of the favourites to for promotion this season, and they have started that way as they are at the top of the table.
The Whites have a strong squad, with the right mix of experience and youth, and some players who could do well in the Premier League.
Let’s take a look at 3 Leeds United stars who deserve to play in the Premier League:
Pablo Hernandez
34-year-old Pablo Hernandez is one of the most important players for Leeds, despite his age. The Spaniard joined Leeds on loan in 2016, before making the move a permanent one, and has been consistently good for the Whites.
He scored 12 goals and registered 12 assists last season, showing that he has still got it, and has continued his good form this season as well, scoring twice and making two assists so far.
Hernandez, who has previously played in the Premier League with Swansea City, will hope to have another crack at the Premier League, having played two seasons with Swansea.
Liam Cooper
Centre-back Liam Cooper has been in tremendous form over the last two seasons for Leeds United, and his good form earned him a call-up to the Scotland national team.
Cooper has been with Leeds for five seasons and is currently in his sixth season with the Championship side and has made over 160 appearances for the side.
The 28-year old has been consistently good for Leeds with his passing, aggression, and aerial ability winning over a lot of the fans as well as Bielsa. The centre-back has the quality to play at the top level, and will be desperate to challenge himself in the Premier League.
Kalvin Phillips
23-year-old Kalvin Phillips is one of Leeds’ shining stars with the defensive midfielder growing by leaps and bounds over the last two seasons.
The English midfielder was linked with a move to the Premier League in the summer, which did not materialise, but he signed a new contract with Leeds, which means that he will hope to get promoted with the Whites.
Phillips has the technique, temperament, and quality to play in the Premier League, and he will hope that he can help Leeds to promotion at the end of the 2019-20 season.
