3-5-2 Wolves predicted lineup to extend Man United’s torrid run at Molineux Stadium

Wolverhampton Wanderers started their Premier League campaign with a 0-0 draw at King Power last weekend. They were back in action mid-week, where they put four past FC Pyunik, to set up a clash against Torino in another Europa League qualifying round. But they will now turn their attention back to the Premier League, where they welcome Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men to the Molineux for a Monday night kick-off.

The Red Devils put in a solid performance against Chelsea to get off the mark on the points table. But Manchester United have lost each of their last two trips to Molineux and have not won any of their last four away games in the English top flight. Nuno Espirito Santo has an impressive squad to chose from and having rested key players in the Europa League tie earlier this week, is expected to field a strong XI.

Team News

Wolves have a clean bill of health ahead of this game as Nuno Santo has all his players fit and available for selection this weekend.

PREDICTED WOLVES LINEUP vs MANCHESTER UNITED (3-5-2)

Defence

Rui Patricio was only on the bench against Pyunik. He should replace John Ruddy in the first team under the bar for this clash. The manager is expected to fall back to his preferred three-man backline for this game.

Conor Coady should start at the heart of the defence while Ryan Bennett will start to his right. Willy Boly, who was Wolves’ best player against The Foxes, will complete the backline, starting to the left of Coady. They will have to keep the likes of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard quiet for them to take anything from this game.

Midfield

Matt Doherty and Jonny are regulars in the wing-back roles for Wolves. They will look to keep Manchester United’s full-backs in check while also pushing their wingers back. This will certainly neutralize Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s system in this game.

Ruben Neves will start at the heart of the midfield, playing in a deeper role. Scott McTominay may have a tough time dealing with the Portuguese international, who will be supported by Joao Moutinho and Leander Dendoncker, both of who add a different dimension to the Wolves midfield.

Attack

Diogo Jota scored Wolves’ last goal against Pyunik, coming off the bench. He should start this game and will support Raul Jimenez, who will lead the attack for Wolves in this game.
