Summer arrival to start: Predicted 4-1-4-1 Leeds United lineup vs Nottingham Forest

Leeds United had the perfect start to the 2019-20 Championship season, winning 3-1 against Bristol City away from home, in a dominant display.

Pablo Hernandez was the star of the match as he scored one and assisted one goal for Leeds last weekend.

Marcelo Bielsa’s team next face Nottingham Forest this Saturday at Elland Road. Bielsa could name an unchanged team for the game against Forest as his players came unscathed after their opening day win.

Let’s take a look at the possible team that Bielsa could put out against Nottingham Forest on Saturday:

Predicted Leeds United lineup vs Nottingham Forest

Goalkeeper

Kiko Casilla played the first game of the season and he will continue in goal against Forest.

Defence

New loan signing Ben White had a solid game in central defence alongside captain Liam Cooper, and the duo will most likely continue despite the return of experienced centre-back Gaetano Berardi, who missed the first game of the season due to a suspension.

Luke Ayling will most likely miss the second game of the season as well due to injury, and Stuart Dallas will continue at right-back, while Barry Douglas will play on the opposite side at left-back.

Midfield

Kalvin Phillips will continue at the base of midfield, where he had yet another good game against Bristol City, which will only increase his transfer valuation.

Bielsa could probably make one change to the side – an attack-minded one – by removing Adam Forshaw and playing Pablo Hernandez in an attacking midfield role, as they are playing at home. Mateusz Klich will hold on to his position in central midfield.

Attack

The sale of Kemar Roofe means that Leeds’ first-choice striker is Patrick Bamford, who scored on opening day. He will continue in his role up top for Leeds United against Nottingham Forest.

Forshaw could be replaced by new signing Helder Costa, who could take up Hernandez’s position on the right side.

Costa was brought on late in the second half against Bristol but did not have enough time to make an impact. Jack Harrison was another player who impressed for Leeds in the first game of the season, and the Manchester City player will start on the left side of attack.
