Juventus are keen on selling Argentine attacker Paulo Dybala, with reports suggesting that his agent has travelled to England to meet with two potential teams that Dybala could move to – Manchester United and Tottenham.
A report by the Express says that Manchester United and Juventus could swap players, with Romelu Lukaku leaving Old Trafford for Juventus, and Dybala moving in the other direction, which would be a massive blow for Tottenham, who were keen to bolster their attack with the Argentine.
Dybala was not a first-choice player for Juventus last season, and ended the season with just five goals in the league, and scoring five in the Champions League, one of which was against Manchester United.
The Argentinian has tough competition ahead of him in attacking positions if he does stay at the Italian club as the likes of Federico Bernardeschi, Juan Cuadrado, and Douglas Costa are competing for the right-sided attacking role, while Cristiano Ronaldo, Gonzalo Higuaín, and Mario Mandzukic are options for new manager Maurizio Sarri, up front.
What would be the ideal destination for Dybala?
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is building a new-look team at Manchester United, one that is on the front foot, attacking at every opportunity with quick wingers and strikers.
Dybala would fit in perfectly at Manchester United, who need a right-sided attacking midfielder/second striker, which is where the Argentine usually plays.
He could be the final jigsaw in the puzzle and will add quality to the Red Devils’ frontline, which has lacked quality over the last few years.
Dybala would mesh well with the likes of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, who could benefit from the vision and technical ability that the 25-year-old has.
The Argentine’s versatility in playing as a wide forward, second striker or attacking midfielder will mean that Solskjaer could change things around quickly in terms of players and formation, and make the team play around the Argentine.
Dybala could be a good signing for Spurs as well as he would add depth to a talented attack featuring Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, and Lucas Moura.
Mauricio Pochettino needs another star player up front to complement Kane, and the duo could form a deadly partnership that would make them one of the best attacks in the Premier League.
However, it remains to be seen if Spurs have the financial power to outbid Manchester United, who could tempt Juventus to sell them Dybala by adding Romelu Lukaku in the transfer negotiations.
