Aston Villa have been the most active of the promoted sides in the transfer market ahead of the 2019-20 Premier League season, having signed a handful of players already.
Manager Dean Smith is keen on strengthening his squad and has reportedly shortlisted Egyptian winger Mahmoud Ahmed Ibrahim Hassan, commonly known as Trezeguet.
The 24-year-old winger currently plays for Turkish side Kasımpaşa, joining from Anderlecht in 2018.
A report by The Sun states that the newly-promoted club could make a bid of around £8 million for the winger who has been in great form for his club, while also excelling for the national team, Egypt.
In 65 games for Kasımpaşa, Trezeguet has scored 22 times while making 16 assists so far.
The winger currently has two years left on his contract at Kasımpaşa, and despite being trailed by several clubs over the last year, has stayed with the Turkish side but could be set to move now.
Trezeguet is currently on international duty with Egypt who are taking part in the African Cup of Nations, and has scored one and assisted once so far.
What will Trezeguet offer Aston Villa?
Trezeguet is a tricky and quick winger who plays on the left side of midfield, and likes to cut into central areas, using his stronger right foot to move inwards.
The Egyptian is a very good dribbler, but also has the technique and ability to pick out a pass in the final third.
The 24-year-old has a great work-rate, bombing up and down the flank to support in both attack and defence, while also closing down opposition attackers constantly.
Trezeguet also contributes heavily on the goal-scoring front and is a good finisher, from close range and long distance. While he is primarily a left-sided player, Trezeguet has shown that he can play on the right-hand side as well.
Villa signed Anwar El Ghazi on a permanent deal and the signing of Trezeguet will add more depth to the side which is very important to compete and stay in the Premier League.
His international teammate Ahmed Elmohamady currently plays for Villa, and he could maybe tempt and persuade Trezeguet to sign for the Premier League side.
