Real Madrid endured a nightmare 2018/19 campaign and will enter the pre-season with the aim of heading into the new season in good form and fitness ready to compete on all fronts.
Los Blancos will travel to the United States for the pre-season and will partake in 3 games in 3 different cities.
The Galacticos will kick off their campaign against Bayern Munich on July 20, followed by Arsenal on July 23 and will compete against Atletico Madrid on July 26 for the ultimate game before travelling back to Spain.
Let’s look at three Real Madrid stars to watch out for.
Eden Hazard
The former Chelsea superstar finally got his dream move to Santiago Bernabeu last month and will look forward to his first appearance in the famous Madrid shirt.
There will be huge expectations from Hazard, who is arriving on the back of a European trophy, seeing the capital club’s situation post the Cristiano Ronaldo era.
Former manager Zinedine Zidane also returned to the club last season just 8 months after his departure and is a big admirer of the Belgian International.
It will be interesting to see how the pair work together to bring back the glory days to the Bernabeu.
Luka Jovic
Jovic is a typical number 9 who is lethal in and around the penalty area and will be a major boost for a Madrid side that lacked goals last time around.
After an excellent last season with Eintracht Frankfurt, the Serbian International was one of the hottest properties in Europe with Chelsea, Barcelona and other European clubs also looking to sign the 21-year-old.
The former Benfica striker chose Los Blancos and now he will have some big boots to fill upfront. Jovic will be in direct competition with Frenchman Karim Benzema for the starting spot.
However, there were talks about Zidane playing them both upfront and the Serbian seems like someone who is set to lap up any opportunity presented to him.
Takefusa Kubo
Kubo is someone who club president Florentino Perez will take great pride in, and why not? After all, he clutched the Japanese International from right under the nose of their fierce rivals in Football Club Barcelona.
The 18-year-old grew up at La Masia but after FIFA sanctioned the Catalan club of illegally signing youngsters, the player was forced to leave Spain.
Ever since he became eligible, both Barca and Madrid were trying their best for his signature and Los Blancos came out on top in which sounds like a victory off the pitch seeing the teenager spent his younger days in the Blaugrana club’s world-famous La Masia academy.
His impressive displays with the Japanese national side during Copa America earned him a spot on the pre-season tour with the Galacticos.
All eyes will once again be on the sensation who joined the long list of players to play for both Barca and Madrid.
