2 Changes Expected: Predicted Newcastle United Lineup vs Fulham

Newcastle United will play their final game of the season against already relegated Fulham, and will hope to finish the season on a high.

The Magpies put in a stellar display against Liverpool in their previous game, but were undone by a Divock Origi goal that came from a dodgy free-kick call.

Rafa Benitez’s side secured their top-flight status a while ago, but have the chance to finish 13th in the league table if they win and Bournemouth lose their game.

There is hope that Benitez will stay beyond the current season, and that talk has perhaps overshadowed the final game of the season as it doesn’t have much consequence.

Fulham away from how won’t be easy, though, as the Cottagers have played without pressure in the last few weeks and have picked up three wins in their last four games.

It is unlikely Benitez will make too many changes to the lineup. Fabian Schar is a doubt for the game, and Federico Fernandez might deputise for the Switzerland international.

Predicted Newcastle United Lineup vs Fulham

Defence

We could see a back three once again, comprising of Fernandez, Jamaal Lascelles and Paul Dummett. Matt Ritchie and Javier Manquillo will act as the wing-backs, and the structure will change to five at the back when the Magpies don’t have the ball.

Dubravka has had another good season, and should keep his place in goal for the final game.

Midfield

This could well be Isaac Hayden’s final game for the Magpies as he has revealed he wants to leave the club to move closer to his family. Hayden should feature alongside Ki Sung-yueng in central midfield.

Yoshinori Muto is in line to get a start on the left, meaning Christian Atsu might drop to the bench. Ayoze Perez should start on the right.

Attack

Salomon Rondon’s future is also the subject of speculation as his loan spell comes to an end.

The Newcastle fans will hope the club can sign him on a permanent deal as the Venezuelan has impressed with his hold up play and output this season.
