Manchester United want to sign Bayern Munich superstar: Final piece of the jigsaw?

Manchester United are monitoring Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule, it has been claimed.

Sule is considered as a vital part of club’s future, but United are hoping the secure the services of the former Hoffenheim defender, who is one of the lowest earners in the current Bayern Munich team.

According to Sport1, the Red Devils are keeping tabs on the German international, who is valued more than €50 million if Transfermarkt is to go by.

Niklas Sule: The final piece of the jigsaw

After a fruitful start to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s spell, it has been a rough patch for Manchester United in the past few weeks. In fact, the Premier League giants have won only one of their last five matches in all competitions.

They have also conceded as many as seven goals in their last two matches, which just goes to show how much of an improvement is needed defensively.

Thus it is imperative the Red Devils strengthen in the summer, if Solskjaer is to guide Manchester United to silverware in the coming seasons.

Bayern Munich’s Niklas Sule could arguably be the best option as they look to overhaul their defence next season.

The German international is known for his no-nonsense defending, and remarkable commitment at the back. He is a tall figure at 1.95m, which makes him an intimidating figure for the attackers whilst also giving him the aerial advantage over his opposition.

However, aside from his incredible physique, Sule is a technically astute defender, who is proficient at distributing the ball from the back. In fact, the 23-year-old has attained an excellent pass completion rate of 93% – more than any other Manchester United player this season.

Sule’s lack of pace, however, could turn out to be a problem, especially in the dynamic nature of the Premier League. But, what he lacks in pace, he more than makes up for it with his diligence in defence along with his physical and aerial prowess, thus making Sule a tailor-made fit for Manchester United.

The German international could be deployed alongside Victor Lindelof in United’s four-man backline next season, where his imposing presence at the back will allow the Dane to become much more expressive in the build-up play.

However, it’s doubtful whether Bayern will be willing to sell one of their key defenders, despite securing the services of both Benjamin Pavard and Lucas Hernandez.
