Gareth Bale’s time at Real Madrid might finally come to an end, with Los Blancos putting him on the transfer list.
It appears the Welshman is at the end of his spell at the Bernabeu and according to Spanish website AS, Florentino Perez is ready to get rid of the Welshman.
Bale has never really fit into the team, and his introverted character, bad attitude, and inability to speak Spanish have been highlighted time and time again.
After Ronaldo was sold at the beginning of the season, the Real Madrid management and fans expected Bale to step up and take his place at the forefront of the attack. However, that hasn’t happened as Bale has disappointed this season with his inconsistent performances.
Gareth Bale: Player Profile
The Welshman arrived from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013 as the most expensive player at the time.
Bale has featured 221 times for Real Madrid and has managed 101 goals in the process, making him one of the most prolific attackers at the club. In fact, bale is just six goals behind Paco Gento in the Real Madrid goal-scoring list.
This season, Bale has scored a meagre seven goals in the league which is low compared to his high standards.
To make matters worse, Solari doesn’t seem to trust Bale as the winger has found it difficult to make it into the first team, and is 15th in terms of most minutes played for the club this season.
Why Manchester United should make a move
By now, Manchester United fans know that if there is one position that they are lacking quality in, it’s the right wing. Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford, Diogo Dalot, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata have all played out of position at times to plug in the gap, but not one has impressed.
Bale would be the ideal fit for the right-wing position that has haunted United for the last few years. The Welshman is 29 and is still at the peak of his prowess, and needs a fresh challenge after winning everything there is in club football at Real Madrid.
There is no doubt that Bale is an amazing player, but after playing second fiddle to Cristiano Ronaldo for so many years in Madrid, he needs his time to shine. Manchester United can offer him that.
After Alexis Sanchez’ less than successful addition to the team, the management will no doubt be careful about adding Bale to the team. However, with proper management and handling, he might become a key player for the team if he signs.
