Tottenham Hotspur will look to keep the heat on Manchester City and Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table when they take on Burnley this Saturday.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side picked up an impressive 3-0 win against Bundesliga high-flyers Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League in their last game.
The north London outfit have now won four games in a row following back to back defeats in the EFL Cup and the FA Cup towards the beginning of the month.
With some key players set to return soon, Spurs are placed pretty well in the league and will hope to keep their title challenge going.
Tottenham Hotspur Team News
Dele Alli and Ben Davies remain unavailable, but Pochettino might have the option to use Harry Kane against Burnley.
It’s highly unlikely that Kane will start, though, as he isn’t up to speed just yet. At best, Kane might get a few minutes off the bench.
Danny Rose and Eric Dier are also set to return to the first team fold come Saturday.
Predicted Tottenham Hotspur Lineup vs Burnley
Defence
Hugo Lloris should keep his place in goal, and a back four of Rose, Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld, and Kieran Trippier should line up in front of the custodian.
Vertonghen did a commendable job at left-back in recent games, and his match-winning display against Dortmund earned him quite a lot of deserved plaudits.
The centre-half pairing will be up against a Burnley side who will be extremely direct, so expect a lot of aerial duels.
Midfield
Dier, Harry Winks, and Moussa Sissoko are likely to complete a three-man midfield for Spurs. The trio offer a lot of tenacity.
Sissoko and Winks are also very capable players going forward, and will need to test the Burnley midfield and defence with their driving runs, especially the former.
Attack
Against a well-built Burnley defensive unit, we expect Fernando Llorente to start and provide a bit of aerial threat in attack.
Heung-Min Son should play alongside the Spaniard, while Christian Eriksen might feature in the number role and try to cut open the Burnley defence with his passing.
