Manchester United might spend a whopping £200 million in the upcoming summer as a squad overhaul might be on the horizon, it has been claimed.
According to the Sun, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have a big say in the transfer plans, having helped the club close the gap on top four contenders Chelsea and Arsenal since taking over as the interim boss.
Here are three players the Red Devils should definitely sign as they look to pose a stronger challenge for the league title next season.
Victor Lindelof has emerged as a reliable option at centre-back for Manchester United this season.
But, the Premier League giants certainly need to revamp their defensive department in the summer, especially with the likes of Eric Bailly, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling struggling with both form and injuries.
That’s where Toby Alderweireld comes into the fray. The Belgian international has a vast amount of experience in the Premier League and is a solid defender, who can not only fortify the United backline but is also capable with his distribution from the back.
Alderweireld is an excellent long-passer as well, which tunes in well with United’s attacking philosophy, especially with agile players like Alexis Sanchez, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial playing upfront.
The Belgian has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for quite some time now, and with his current contract with Tottenham expiring in 2020, the Lilywhites might be tempted to cash in on the defender in the summer.
