Tottenham Hotspur made 10 changes to the lineup that lost to Manchester City but emerged comfortable winners against West Ham United in the EFL Cup. Spurs will next take on Wolves away from home and the newly-promoted side will be no pushovers.
Wolves have lost their last two Premier League games and will be up for the game. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have taken points of Manchester City and Manchester United and usually turn up for the big games considering the players they have and Pochettino’s side can’t afford to be complacent.
The rotation will help Spurs as Pochettino can pretty much name a starting XI who will not be playing with a cup hangover.
Tottenham Hotspur Team News
Pochettino is still without Jan Vertonghen but Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld haven’t done too badly. Danny Rose has missed the last few games with a groin injury and might not make it in time.
Eric Dier was unavailable for the cup tie as he picked up a thigh injury and he will be assessed ahead of the game. Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli started against West Ham United and are in contention to play against Wolves.
Predicted Tottenham Hotspur Lineup
Defence
Sanchez was the only one who started against Man City and West Ham but he is expected to keep his place alongside Alderweireld. In Rose’s absence, Ben Davies should start at left-back while Kieran Trippier could return in place of Serge Aurier.
Hugo Lloris has had a shaky few games and the fans will hope their custodian can quickly return to his best. He should keep his place in goal.
Midfield
With doubts about Dier’s participation, we could see Victor Wanyama starting in midfield. His role will be to cut the supply from the quality Wolves midfield to the attack. Mousa Dembele is expected to partner the Kenyan in the midfield pivot.
Christian Eriksen played against West Ham but could get a start as his creativity will be needed against the tough Wolves midfield and defence.
Attack
Harry Kane should lead the line after getting a breather against West Ham. He will be supported by Lucas Moura and Eric Lamela on the wings.

Wanyama – Dembele
