Surprise Inclusion In Midfield: Predicted 4-2-3-1 Huddersfield Town Lineup vs Everton

Huddersfield Town began the season on a dismal note as Chelsea ran all over them in a 3-0 opening weekend victory. In their second match, they came up against an in-form Manchester City who handed them a 6-1 drubbing.

David Wagner’s side collected their first point in their third match which was a goalless draw against Cardiff City, and they would want to build on that momentum against Everton this weekend too. Unfortunately, they were defeated 2-0 by Stoke City in the Carabao Cup which would have temporarily derailed their preparations for today.

Team News

Ramadan Sobhi and Ben Hamer will sit out of the match with their respective knee injuries. Hamer had to be substituted in the 12th minute against Cardiff which saw Lossl take over and he kept a clean sheet which would have boosted his confidence. Moreover, Johnathan Hogg was shown a red card in the last match, and he will be a notable absentee against Everton.

PREDICTED HUDDERSFIELD TOWN LINEUP VS EVERTON (4-2-3-1)

Defence

Jonas Lossl will start between the sticks in the absence of Hamer and will be determined to keep another clean sheet.

Florent Hadergjonaj and Terence Kongolo will feature as the two fullbacks in a four-man backline. They have not shown any particular desire to go forward and join in the attack but with goals proving hard to come by, Wagner might tweak his tactics slightly. Zanka and Christopher Schindler will form the core of the defensive structure. Schindler’s robust approach while defending would be essential for Huddersfield’s fortunes against the Toffees.

Midfield

Philip Billing and Danny Williams might be partnered in the midfield pivot against Everton. Billing had put in four tackles against Cardiff and a similar display will be needed today. Williams could possibly make a return in the Premier League this season, after missing the last quarter of the previous season due to a fractured fibula.

Attack

Aaron Mooy is likely to start in the hole.  He will look to kick on this season and regain his form of old. Most of the attacking play goes through him and hence the Australian’s contribution will be immense today. Adama Diakhaby and Rajiv van la Paara will flank him on either side.

Steve Mounie is likely to be picked ahead of Laurent Depoitre with the latter having played 90 minutes against Stoke City.
