Predicted 5-4-1 Huddersfield Town Lineup vs Crystal Palace

Huddersfield Town have had a slow start to their Premier League campaign this season as David Wagner’s men are yet to win a game and were also knocked out of the League Cup just before the international break. However, they managed to steal a point from their trip to Goodison Park last time out and will look to build on that when they host Crystal Palace.

The Eagles beat Fulham on the opening matchday but have lost each of their last three league games and will be low on confidence. They do have the quality to trouble the Terriers but playing at home, Huddersfield will believe that they can take something from this game.

Huddersfield Team News

Jonathan Hogg has been ruled out for this game, as he remains suspended. Ramadan Sobhi and Ben Hamer are both nursing knee injuries but are expected to be fit for the game.

Expected Huddersfield lineup (5-4-1)

Defence

Jonas Lossl played in the last two games for Town and is expected to keep his place under the bar, for his side in this game.

With 3.3 clearances and 4.3 aerial duels won per game, Christopher Schindler has been effective at the heart of the three-man backline for the Terriers. He is expected to keep his place in the side with Terrence Kongolo and Zanka playing on either side. Both players have been regular in the first team but will have a tough task against the likes of Wilfried Zaha in this tie.

Florent Hadergjonaj is the preferred choice at right-back, and his stats of two tackles and 1.5 dribbles per game, add decent balance to this Huddersfield Town side.

Chris Lowe has started three games this season but needs to find some form in this game, if the hosts are to test the quality of the Palace squad.

Midfield

Aaron Mooy and Philipp Billing have 7.6 tackles, 3.5 interceptions and 1.6 blocks per game between them this season and have been brilliant in the middle of the park. The duo needs to be at their best to try and control the tempo of the game and add numbers to the backline when needed.

Rajiv van la Parra has been dispossessed more times than any other Town player this season. But he is expected to keep his place in the side this weekend, trying to add some width to the midfield on the left flank.

Adama Diakhaby, who has played in every game for the club this season, could start on the right flank.

Attack

Steven Mounie has won more aerial duels this season than any other player for Wagner’s side. But he only has an assist to his name so far and will look to score his first of the season, against a Palace side that have not been at their best at the back.

Here is how they might line up:
