Shocking Update: Lyon Star Hints At Man United Return

In the summer of 2015, Memphis Depay was lured to the OId Trafford from the ranks of PSV Eindhoven for a transfer fee of £31m during the reign of Louis van Gaal. However, he flattered to deceive during his time at Manchester United as he was miles away from reaching his true potential.

Eventually, he was sold to Lyon by Jose Mourinho in the January transfer window of 2017 and after his move to Ligue 1, he has proved himself to be one of the most productive players for his current employers as he has scored 28 goals and bagged 27 assists in 74 league appearances.

Ahead of Lyon’s Champions League clash against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday, Depay had hinted about his interest to make a return to the red half of Manchester. Interestingly, the Red Devils had inserted a buy-back clause into the deal which saw him leave for Lyon.

The 24-year-old said: “I’m here to spread positivity and I’m back in Manchester, it’s great to be back. I still speak with lads from United and I wish everybody the best and you never know what happens in the future, I just want to level up my game with Lyon and bring them to a higher game.”
