Riyad Mahrez was the only notable signing during the summer transfer window for Manchester City. Pep Guardiola is expected to be eager to add more quality to his ranks and as per one of the latest reports by Express, his side is interested to sign Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski.
Zielinski has carved a strong start to the new season in Serie A, having scored a brace in a dramatic 3-2 win for his side over AC Milan last month. Interestingly, the 24-year-old recently signed a new contract with the Blues that has a release clause of £107m inserted in it.
It is believed that Real Madrid and Liverpool have also placed Zielinski on their radar. Having emerged through the youth ranks of Udinese, he was promoted to their senior side and while he was on their books, he spent a successful loan spell with Empoli before signing for Napoli in the summer of 2016.
He is an established player for the Polish national side as well and is one of the hottest properties on the books of Carlo Ancelotti at Napoli. His versatility of plying his trade anywhere in the midfield sector as well as on the wings is one of the strongest assets that he possesses.
