During the summer transfer window, Chelsea attacker Willian was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United or Barcelona. While the Spanish giants saw at least two bids rejected by the London based outfit, the Red Devils were also considering a bid to lure him to the Old Trafford.
However, Willian has rubbished claims that he wanted to leave the Stamford Bridge in the summer. He has said: “A lot of people they say a lot of things in the press, but I never said that I want to leave Chelsea, never. Always I say that I want to stay at Chelsea as long as possible, and I am happy to stay here.”
Chelsea signed the Brazilian international in the summer of 2013 from the ranks of Anzhi Makhachkala and he has been an instrumental player for the London based outfit.
He has won the Premier League twice and has also clinched the FA Cup and League Cup with his current employers.
The 30-year-old has featured in all four games in the Premier League for Chelsea so far this season and has helped Maurizio Sarri in carving a stupendous start to his life at his new job. After the international break, Sarri’s troops are due to host Cardiff City at Stamford Bridge.
