As per latest reports by Daily Star, Seria A heavyweights AC Milan are expected to make a move for Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas once the transfer window reopens in January. Their final decision regarding Fabregas is likely to surface in the next few weeks.
The Spaniard had played a key role under former Chelsea managers Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte after moving to the Stamford Bridge from Barcelona back in 2014. However, with the arrival of a few new faces, he has fallen below the pecking order.
New manager Maurizio Sarri has preferred a three-man midfield unit with Jorginho, N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic as his preferred options.
Besides, the Italian also has the luxury of having Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Ross Barkley and Danny Drinkwater up his sleeve means Fabregas might find it hard to break into the first team.
Fabregas’ current deal with the London based club is set to expire at the end of the ongoing campaign and Chelsea could cash in on him in January to avoid losing him for free next summer.
The 31-year-old is yet to feature for his current employers this season as he has been nursing an injury that he picked up before the season began.
