West Ham United And Everton Amongst Possible Destinations For Premier League Striker

According to The Evening Standard, Arsenal star Danny Welbeck has been informed that he is surplus to requirements and is free to depart the club this summer. It is believed that newly appointed head coach Unai Emery’s plans don’t include the former Manchester United attacker as he seeks to usher in a new era at Emirates.

As a result, it is likely that Welbeck will leave the club before Thursday’s deadline and in this article, we will discuss three potential destinations for this Premier League star.

Everton

Danny Welbeck will be an intriguing signing for Everton, who have struggled with their lack of potency in the attacking department, of late.

For that reason, coach Marco Silva is keen to add more reinforcements to his attacking unit despite having signed Richarlison this summer. Welbeck, in that regard, could be an ideal candidate given his vast experience in the English top flight.

In addition, Everton have notoriously lacked proper goal-scoring options in the past few years with Cenk Tosun and Dominic-Calvert Lewin remaining their only reliable options this season.

Welbeck can also prove to be a decent upgrade for Sandro Ramirez, who has turned out to be a huge flop since moving to the Merseyside last summer.

West Ham United

Another club that should definitely seek the services of Welbeck is West Ham United. The Hammers are already in a bit of trouble as far as their offensive department is concerned.

In fact, new coach Manuel Pellegrini only has two reliable options upfront for this season in the form of Javier Hernandez and Jordan Hugill. And even then, both these players have failed to make a big impression at the club as of yet.

Moreover, star striker Andy Carroll has been ruled out for the first three months due to an injury, which has left West Ham vying for a proper alternative in the market.

Although Danny Welbeck will not necessarily be an ideal replacement for Carroll, his work-ethic coupled with his commitment could be useful for the Hammers.

Bournemouth

Last but not the least, it’s AFC Bournemouth who should certainly try to add Danny Welbeck to their roster this summer.

Like the two other clubs on this list, the Cherries, too, are currently devoid of options in the attacking department. Callum Wilson is currently their number one choice but Eddie Howe’s options are few with Lys Mousset not being identified as a reliable option while Jermaine Defoe has already entered the final phase of his career.

Thus, the addition of someone like Welbeck will definitely add a bit of depth to their attack whilst also boosting their quality upfront.

Although Welbeck is not really known to be a huge goal-getter, his experience in the English top flight is exactly what a club like Bournemouth will need next season.
