As per one of the latest reports by Turkish-Football, Galatasaray are plotting a move to sign Danny Welbeck from Arsenal. Galatasaray have extra cash at their disposal after making it to the Champions League and are apparently keen to land a new forward.
The Turkish side could earn around €50m after the exit of Fenerbahce to Benfica in the third round and they are willing to roll out a part of their additional revenues to beef up their attacking sector. However, they have to sell a player to make the transfer happen.
Bafetimbi Gomes is expected to be shown the exit door, with Welbeck being vouched as his replacement. Galatasaray would be able to offer Champions League football and the English international would have a high chance of starting regularly for the Lions if his move to their ranks materializes.
However, reports claim that the 27-year-old is happy under Unai Emery and is reluctant to move to Turkey. Although the Gunners are willing to strike him off their books, Emery might not mind if they fail to offload him as his versatility up front would be a handy asset for his side.
