Leeds United have carved a fine start to their life under the tutelage of Marcelo Bielsa. After 3-1 win in their opening fixture of the Championship over Stoke City and 4-1 demolition of Derby County after that, the Whites secured a convincing 2-0 win over Rotherham yesterday at the Elland Road.
Having bagged 9 points from possible 9, Leeds United have emerged as the favourites for the bookies to clinch promotion to the Premier League. The Yorkshire based outfit were 11/2 at the start of the campaign but apparently, they have been backed 13/8 with Sky Bet, with Middlesbrough at 15/8 as the second favourites.
However, it will be important for Leeds United not to get carried away after an impressive start like they did last season. The Peacocks did start strongly last term under the tutelage of Thomas Christiansen but eventually stuttered when fixtures came thick and fast. Besides, Paul Heckingbottom’s tenure after replacing Christiansen proved to be a disastrous move.
As a result, the Championship side finished at the 13th spot in the league table and were miles away from the play-off spots. Nonetheless, Bielsa is one of the best managers in the game and having made an immediate impact after his entry into Leeds United, he has his troops need to carry on in the same tempo throughout the season.
