Huge: Liverpool Sensation Turned Down Manchester United To Work Under Klopp

During the summer transfer window, one of the players Liverpool managed to lure to the Anfield was Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City. The Reds signed him for £13m, although West Ham United, Southampton and Manchester United were also in the race to sign him.

As per one of the latest reports by Liverpool Echo, talks between Manchester United and Shaqiri never started because the Swiss international was already appealed by the chance to work under Jurgen Klopp. Shaqiri admires Klopp and after discussions were held between them, he was convinced to snub interest from the Red Devils as well as from other English sides.

Earlier this month, the winger said: “I have admired Jurgen Klopp for a long time because his teams play fantastic football and he is a fantastic person. It is important for me to work with him and with people who communicate well with good character.”

Liverpool have certainly improved under the tutelage of the former Borussia Dortmund manager. They have started their Premier League season in a stupendous fashion as they ran riot against West Ham United on Sunday and clinched a 4-0 win. Shaqiri started on the bench against the Hammers and replaced Sadio Mane late in the second-half.
