According to Sportwitness, French newspaper L ‘Equipe carried a report on Thursday mentioning avid interest in Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi amongst clubs in Europe. Premier League club, Everton, are also said to be ‘showing interest’ with Marco Silva looking to make sure he has a squad to his liking by the time the season starts.
Batshuayi has undergone a turbulent time at Chelsea till now, as former manager Antonio Conte did not seem to trust him despite the player mostly impressing when on the pitch. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund who are one of the clubs named in the report.

The 24-year-old is quite good with the ball at his feet, as Batshuayi tends to link up with his teammates and carries the ball ahead using his commendable footwork.
Moreover, he is quite clinical in front of the goal, as his poacher-like instincts coupled with a good game-awareness means that he chips in with regular goals.
He has the attributes to own the tag, ‘fox in the box’. He is enthusiastic, is eager to score and his tendency of keeping an eye on the ball till the very end helps him in earning opportunities from rebounds and any slip-ups by the keeper.
Batshuayi demonstrates good work-rate and is a team player who does not hesitate in contributing to the defensive aspect of the game. His willingness to track back allows the team to maintain a healthy balance during transitional play.
The Belgian’s energy enables him to act as the first line of defence and though Chelsea did not press their opponents collectively, Batshuayi did prove his mettle for Dortmund displaying the aforementioned traits during his short stay there. He scored seven goals in nine appearances in the Bundesliga and an unfortunate injury stalled his involvement in the final stages of the season.
He represented Belgium in the World Cup and it is quite safe to say that his performances in Germany were well noticed by the national team selectors.
Everton lacked natural goal-scorers last season and though Batshuayi might not be temperamentally or technically strong enough to consistently lead the line yet, he would definitely bring some excellent quality to the roster and develop into a bonafide Premier League striker. It would be beneficial for Silva if he decides to pursue this deal.
