A quarter-final exit from the Champions League compounded by the failure to keep up with local rivals Manchester City has made Jose Mourinho’s life pretty difficult at Manchester United. The squad at Old Trafford is easily one of the best in the country but still not as good as Manchester City’s.
A lot of their players are expensive but still could attract more suitors in the summer, so you wouldn’t bet against them to stay at the club having seen very little game time. Champions League showed that the current team is not competitive enough but improvement is possible in the future, so you should watch and follow your favourite team through all stages of this great competition. United need to improve their depth in a couple of positions for next season if they want to be prepared for Champions League and might also be in the market for upgrades, leaving a number of players with even less first-team action. So they might see a few exits this summer and here are three such players who could leave Manchester United at the end of the season:
Marouane Fellaini
The 30-year old versatile Belgian international had started just four league games last season and has constantly been linked with an exit this summer. The likes of AS Roma, Marseille and a couple of clubs in China are reportedly interested in the Manchester United man, who will be a free agent in the summer.

Mourinho had been vocal about his intentions to sign him on a new deal but with just weeks left on his contract, Fellaini looks set to leave Manchester United in the coming weeks.
Matteo Darmian
The 28-year old Italian full-back moved to Old Trafford back in 2015 but has failed to establish himself in the first team under current manager Jose Mourinho, who had handed him just three league starts last season. At his age, he will want to play regular football and has been constantly linked with an exit this summer. He has just a year left on his contract and Italian giants Juventus are desperate for his signature.
Ander Herrera
The Spanish international, who was named Manchester United’s Player Of the Season for the 2016-17 campaign, was not able to break into the first team under Mourinho last season. He had 11 starts but is not a name that Mourinho will include in his best XI.
Like Darmian, he is also looking for regular playing time and his contract will also come to an end at the end of the next season. Losing him will be a big blow for Manchester United. He has a winner’s mentality and can walk into most squads in Europe and could be another player to quit Manchester United in the summer.
