In what could be a hammer blow to Chelsea, Jose Mourinho is setting up a second attempt to lure Brazilian star, Willian out of the Stamford Bridge in the summer. Jose had a fruitful time with the attacker during his time at the Bridge and his overall work ethic along with his sharpness in attack has always been favoured by Jose.
Despite Chelsea apparently still suffering from a hangover of last season, the Brazilian has been one of the bright spots in what has been a thoroughly disappointing campaign saddled with lacklustre displays from the big-hitters in the team. He has notched up 13 goals and 11 assists in 47 appearances in all competitions for Conte.
Jose has been a fan and even though he has 2 and a half years left on his current contract, Manchester United believe that a fee in the region of 30m will be sufficient for Chelsea to part ways with a feeling that the player might well prefer a move with Chelsea likely to miss out on Champions League football next season.
And Willian is expected to take up Juan Mata’s place in the squad even though the Spaniard signed a one-year contract extension recently.
With Manchester City running away with the title this season, it will be interesting to witness what steps the other heavyweights take in order to close down the huge gap.
