After a come from behind draw against Newcastle, Crystal Palace will hope to upset Everton when they travel to Merseyside this weekend in the Premier League.
The Toffees are currently sitting tenth in the Premier League table, just four points ahead of their weekend opponents Crystal Palace.
Sam Allardyce’s men will be desperate to get back into winning ways after that horrendous defeat to Arsenal last week while Crystal Palace will look to climb further up the table, after initially recovering from their terrible start to the season.
Here’s the predicted Crystal Palace lineup to feature against the Toffees this weekend.
Defence
Wayne Hennessey will be the man between the sticks for the Eagles. The Welsh International will be keen to end the game with a clean sheet, having conceded five goals in his last three games.
Manchester United loanee Timothy-Fosu Mensah has been a revelation at Palace this season. He will feature in the right-back position while Dutch defender Patrick van Aanholt starts on the left.
Palace’s centre-back partnership will comprise of James Tomkins and Mamadou Sakho. The former Liverpool defender, in particular, will be a key man as the Eagles look to stop the dangerous attacking lineup from Everton.
Midfield
Crystal Palace head coach Roy Hodgson will be without the services of Chelsea loanee Ruben-Loftus Cheek, midfielder Jason Puncheon and winger Bakary Sako, meaning the duo of Yohan Cabaye and Luka Milivojevic is expected to start in central midfield.
Former Spurs winger Andros Townsend could be deployed as the right winger while midfielder James McArthur starts on the left. It will be interesting to see as to how fare against the dynamic Everton defenders out wide.
Attack
Roy Hodgson had to deal with the huge blow of losing star attacker Wilfried Zaha who is sidelined due to a knee injury. The former Manchester United starlet had been the main man for Palace this season but his absence will be a huge blow for the Eagles.
However, that being said, Zaha’s injury could pave the way for new signing Alexander Sorloth, who just joined the club from Midtjylland in January for a fee of €7.8m. The Norweigan is expected partner alongside Christian Benteke up front, in a two-man attacking lineup. Fans will definitely be excited to see how their new signing fare in the Premier League this weekend.
