Speculation
As per one of the latest reports by Mirror, Manchester United are understood to be interested in landing Ajax’s blossoming starlet, Justin Kluivert, in the summer transfer window. Jose Mourinho is an admirer of Kluivert and the report also states that the Red Devils are readying a bid of £10million with various add-ons to lure him to Old Trafford.

Kluivert developed in the ranks of SV Diemen and Ajax and has accumulated a fair bit of experience while plying his trade with the senior side of the Dutch outfit. Ajax has a rich and illustrious history of producing legends of the game like Dennis Bergkamp, Edgar Davids, Johan Cruyff, Edwin van der Sar (the list goes on) and Kluivert is one of their latest products who has the calibre to make it big.
He is the son of former Dutch international and Barcelona legend, Patrick Kluivert, and certainly has the ingredients to thrive and succeed in the near future. The winger has represented the Netherlands at various youth levels and has drawn a lot of attention from the football fraternity for his tremendous rise in stature in quite a short span of time.
Attributes
The 18-year-old is a skilful winger who uses his blistering pace and close control to run at defenders and beat them with his movement and trickery. He stretches the play and stays close to the touchline always looking to beat his marker and open up huge gaps in the opposition defence.
He loves to shoot from the edge of the box by cutting in from the wide areas and has the tendency to outfox defenders with his excellent dribbling skills. Besides, Kluivert holds the ball really well and it isn’t surprising to see his stocks being rated so highly. So far this season, he has mustered 16 appearances in the Eredivisie and has garnered 5 goals and 2 assists.
One For The Future?
Mourinho is expected to beef up his squad in the summer and Kluivert could be an exciting player to add to his ranks. The starlet is developing at a brisk pace and his introduction to Manchester United would grant them a fierce attacking option on the wings. Jose has a number of established stars under him but he would love to take such an explosive potential under his ranks and develop him into one of the very best.
