As per a recent report by talkSPORT, Tottenham Hotspur are closely monitoring Cagliari forward, Kwang-song Han. Han is one of the hottest properties in the game at this stroke of the hour and no wonder he has fallen on the radar of the Lilywhites. However, it would not be a walk in the park for Spurs to make him sign on the dotted line as Arsenal are also interested in him.
After making an impact with TecnoFutbol CF, Kwang-song Han initially joined the youth ranks of Cagliari and after a successful trial period, he was promoted to their senior side. In the summer, he was shipped out on loan to Serie B outfit, Perugia, and he has been a dazzling performer for the Griffins so far this season, having smashed 7 goals in 17 appearances.
His agent confirmed, as per one of the latest reports by Metro, that the 19-year-old wants to make a move to the Premier League but is keen to ply his trade with Manchester United, Manchester City or Arsenal. This might be a stumbling block for Tottenham in their pursuit of signing the blossoming starlet who is creating ripples back in Italy.
Spurs are believed to have sent scouts to watch him in action and they are understood to be ready to place a bid for him. It is unlikely that the forward would be thrown directly into the first-team action of the North London based outfit as he is still an unpolished article and certainly needs to be groomed adequately before he is asked to shoulder the tougher responsibilities.
Mauricio Pochettino has perennially been inclined towards the prospect of working with youngsters and this is precisely the reason why he is targeting Kwang-song Han. Recently, it was reported that he is also desirous to bring Stevenage’s 18-year-old centre-back, Ben Wilmot, into his armoury which gives us a gist of where Pochettino’s priorities lie.
Apart from the aforesaid English clubs, Serie A giant, Juventus, are also reported to be interested in signing the North Korean international. Spurs can make a strong case for themselves as they have been giving adequate chances to the deserving youngsters in their ranks. Kwang-song Han’s agent also stated that there hasn’t been any call from Pochettino’s camp but with reports flooding in regarding his interest in signing the youngster, it would be intriguing to see where the speculation goes from here onward.
