Three Attackers West Ham United Should Target Including This Liverpool Striker

West Ham United will be bereft of the services of their striker, Andy Carroll, for three months after the 29-year-old underwent a surgery on a foot injury. As if that was not enough, the Hammers also fear that Manuel Lanzini could be sidelined until the end of February with a hamstring injury.

David Moyes needs to address the resultant lack of depth in his attacking arsenal before the transfer window shuts down to ensure a respectable standing in the league table at the end of the season and here are three players he should target.

  1. Daniel Sturridge

Under the stewardship of Jurgen Klopp, Daniel Sturridge has been overlooked more often than not this season. He has been handed merely 5 starts in the Premier League, in which he has scored 2 goals and 1 assist and it goes without saying that he might be looking for an exit this month.

West Ham United might fancy signing Sturridge, as the Irons really need a quality striker to fight for a top-ten finish. The Englishman is clinical and has the requisite attacking prowess and has plenty of English top flight experience as well. The 28-year-old’s career is stuttering at Anfield and a move should make sense for all the parties involved.

  1. Adnan Januzaj

Adnan Januzaj worked under Moyes during their tenure at Manchester United before playing for Sunderland. The 22-year-old is currently in the books of La Liga outfit, Real Sociedad, wherein he has found the back of the net on 2 occasions and has also notched up 3 assists in 12 league games.

The Belgian is capable of operating on either wing and is an excellent dribbler of the ball. He was highly rated while he was in the ranks of the Red Devils but his performances thereafter on the pitch hardly met with the expectations. He is a decent playmaker and a chance to work under Moyes in a helpful setup might tempt the youngster to take the brave but potentially career-changing step.

  1. Leonardo Ulloa

Leicester City outcast, Leonardo Ulloa, has been handed merely 19 minutes of Premier League football so far this season by the Foxes. Ulloa is likely to leave the King Power Stadium this month in search of regular game time and one of the recent reports by Daily Mail state that Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion are interested to make him sign on the dotted line.

Given that there is an apparent dearth of regular goal-getters at London Stadium, Moyes should intervene and try to sign Ulloa. The 31-year-old holds the ball well in the final third, does make defensive contributes and is quite clinical as well. Further, he still has a couple of years (at least) of Premier League football left in him and should be a useful asset for West Ham United.
