Predicted 4-2-3-1 Manchester United lineup vs Burnley: Mata to start?

Jose Mourinho’s team delivered a stellar performance against Stoke City on Monday and will next face Burnley twice within the span of almost three weeks.

The last time the Clarets played against United, they collected a point from Old Trafford. At home, Burnley will make it even more difficult for Manchester United to break down their defensive shape. Mourinho had experienced a lot of backlash after his side somehow scrapped his way towards a draw against Sean Dyche’s men last time around. Let us see how the outcome can turn out to be this time.

Team News

Zlatan Ibrahimovic might be out for another two weeks as he continues his recovery from his latest injury setback.

Michael Carrick was in Dubai with the team and looks to have nearly completed his recovery from an abnormal heart rhythm. We can see the captain back in some two weeks now. Otherwise, Manchester United do not have any fresh injury worries.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Defence

David de Gea has been immense and is irreplaceable to the current Manchester United lineup. Antonio Valencia returned with aplomb by scoring a stunning goal in the game against Stoke City.He is expected to keep his place. Luke Shaw has been impressive in the past month or so and looks to be the player that many once expected him to be.

Phil Jones and Chris Smalling form an undoubtedly strong pairing at the heart of the defence. Jones has been the stronghold of the whole backline as his intelligence inside the box helps United thwart attacks.

Midfield

Paul Pogba has already registered nine assists this season — the same as De Bruyne — that too in only 13 games. He’ll be the creative threat from midfield. Nemanja Matic has undoubtedly made it easier for Pogba to have more attacking freedom. Matic will keep things simple and will try to deflect aerial attacks with his tall stature.

Attack

Romelu Lukaku returned to the scoring ways last week as his overall work rate was mighty impressive too. The Belgian will like to put his forlorn last couple of months behind and start a better future.

Jesse Lingard could continue in his favoured number 10 position. Juan Mata has displayed some commendable work ethic and the Spaniard brings in a sense of calmness and experience to this youthfully exuberant Manchester United attacking lineup. He is expected to start on the right.

Anthony Martial has netted twice in his last two Premier League games and should start on the left.

For more information best place, there are instances when taking it could be dangerous or counterproductive.
